Prepare the Work Area: Ensure the patient’s teeth are clean and dry, and the orthodontic brackets are securely bonded to the teeth.
Select the Ligature Ties: Choose the appropriate color and size of Fox Ligature Ties based on the treatment plan and the specific brackets being used.
Position the Archwire: Place the orthodontic archwire into the brackets, ensuring it is properly seated and aligned according to the treatment plan.
Apply the Ligature Ties: Using orthodontic pliers, grasp one end of the ligature tie and stretch it around the bracket hook or wing of the bracket.
Wrap Around the Bracket: Securely wrap the ligature tie around the bracket and archwire, ensuring it is snug but not overly tight to allow for tooth movement.
Secure the Tie: Once the ligature tie is wrapped around the bracket and archwire, use the pliers to cut off any excess length and tuck the ends neatly under the tie to prevent irritation.
