ATTACHING A SCALPEL BLADE
Grip the blade With pliers, or similar, avoiding contact With the cutting edge.
Hold the handle in your left hand With the bayonet fitting uppermost.
Place blade partway over handle fitting and engage slots.
Slide the blade until it clicks into position.
To improve assembly, flex the blade slightly upwards when sliding onto the handle.
DETACHING SCALPEL BLADE
Grip the blade with pliers or similar, at point A making sure that the cutting edge is facing
away from the hand and body.
Ensure the blade is pointing downwards and towards a surface and NOT towards yourself or others.
Whilst holding the handle firmly lift the back edge of the blade With the pliers or forceps and slide away the handle.
The preferred method would be a Swann-Morton blade remover device.
