| Coltene Tenax Fibre Posts And Drills – Intro Kit
Tenax Fiber Trans is an excellent alternative to metal posts if highly esthetic, metal-free restorations are desired. Fiber posts with high strength, high bending strength, and resistance to shearing force have an elastic modulus similar to that of dentin. It can absorb bite force and external forces to avoid root features. 4% taper in the bottom third. It is translucent hence light can pass through it while using a light cure. |
| Outstanding mechanic retention 4% taper in the bottom third It is translucent hence light can pass through it while using light cure. Excellent aesthetics: white, translucent color Grooves: Provides you with an outstanding mechanical retention Removable: Enables endodontic retreatment Metal-Free: Esthetic dentistry White: No shadowing Cylindro-conical design:2/3 parallel – excellent retention 1/3 conical to correspond to the shape of the root canal |
| Flexural Strength – 1577 MPa Flexural Modulus – 26 GPa Compressive Strength – 519 MPa Drills: 1.1mm, 1.3mm & 1.5mm Composition :Fiber/Glass reinforcement 75% Resin 25% Dimensions of the Posts :Black – 1.1mm (diameter), 19mm length Yellow – 1.3mm (diameter), 19mm length Blue – 1.5mm (diameter), 19mm length |
| Prepare the post space using specific drills Trial fit the Fiber posts and determine the desired length. After etching and rinsing the canal and super-structure, place the adhesive on the tooth. Place the dual cure resin cement and core build-up material. Final preparations. Note that the posts has to be placed over the centric cusps. |
| Self-adhesive resin cement presents better bond strength when compared to other conventional luting cement. |
Although they do not have the rigidity of a metal post, fiber posts are indicated for: cases where a metal post would jeopardize the esthetic result; at-risk patients who have a past history of trauma to the orofacial region and the placement of a metal post would put an endodontically treated tooth at risk of root fracture; teeth with sufficient remaining coronal structure so that a 1.5-mm to 2-mm ferrule can be developed in the crown preparation.
The indications for a post and core restoration are done when tooth with extensive crown loss, crown susceptible to cervical area fracture, grossly discolored tooth, loss of two proximal surfaces, a shortened tooth with insufficient retention form with the favorable periodontal and periapical condition.
