Chromatic alginate is a dental impression material that changes color as it sets, helping dentists determine when it’s ready to be removed from the patient’s mouth.

Color-changing alginates”” refers to dental impression materials, often called “”chromatic alginates,”” that alter their color during the setting process. This color change serves as a visual indicator to help dental professionals know when the material is ready to be removed from the patient’s mouth for accurate impressions.
