Super Fiber Post Kit Content
Prepare the Post Space:
Use the specific drills provided to prepare the post space in the tooth. These drills are designed to create an exact match for the fiber resin post.
Trial Fit the Fiber Posts:
Before permanently placing the posts, conduct a trial fit to determine the desired length. This ensures that the posts will fit the tooth’s dimensions properly.
Etching and Rinsing:
After you’ve established the desired length, etch the tooth and the super-structure to create a suitable surface for bonding.
Rinse the canal and the super-structure to remove any residue from the etching process.
Adhesive Application:
Apply adhesive to the prepared tooth and post space. The adhesive helps create a strong bond between the tooth and the fiber post.
Dual Cure Resin Cement and Core Build-Up:
Place the dual-cure resin cement into the post space. Dual-cure cement is often used to ensure a strong bond, as it can cure both with and without light exposure.
If a core build-up is necessary, apply the core build-up material in the post space. This is essential for rebuilding the tooth’s structure.
Final Preparations:
Ensure that the post is placed over the centric cusps. Proper positioning is crucial for the overall functionality and bite alignment of the restored tooth.
While luting Glass Ionomer Cement (GIC) can be used for cementing the SuperEndo Superpost Fiber, resin luting cements are more preferred. Resin luting cements typically provide stronger and more durable bond strength, ensuring secure retention of the post within the root canal. However, the choice of cement depends on various factors, including the specific clinical scenario and the dentist’s preference.
The SuperEndo Superpost Fiber Kit includes a red post with a diameter of 1.4mm and a length of 18mm. The compatible drill for the red post, which is also provided in the packaging, has a diameter of 1.4mm. This ensures that the correct drill size is readily available for use with the red post, facilitating efficient and accurate placement during dental procedures.
Yes, the drills included in the SuperEndo Superpost Fiber Kit can be used for the removal of gutta-percha (GP) in the coronal third of the root canal and for the preparation of the post space.
The indications for a post and core restoration are tooth with extensive crown loss, crown susceptible to cervical area fracture, grossly discolored tooth, loss of two proximal surfaces, shortened tooth with insufficient retention form with favorable periodontal and periapical condition.
Although they do not have the rigidity of a metal post, fiber posts are indicated for : cases where a metal post would jeopardize the esthetic result; at-risk patients who have a past history of trauma to the orofacial region and the placement of a metal post would put an endodontically treated tooth at risk of root fracture; teeth with sufficient remaining coronal structure so that a 1.5-mm to 2-mm ferrule can be developed in the crown preparation.
Self-adhesive resin cements presents better bond strength when compared to other conventional luting cements.
