Dentsply Palodent V3 Sectional Matrix System Refills are essential components that complement the Palodent V3 system and provide dentists with the necessary tools to achieve optimal results in dental restorations. These refills consist of various components that are designed to be compatible with the Palodent V3 system and enhance its functionality. The refills typically include nickel-titanium retaining rings, which are a crucial component of the system. These rings securely hold the matrix bands in place, ensuring stability during the restoration process. The exceptional stability provided by these rings allows for precise and consistent outcomes, even in challenging cases with wide cavities and missing cusps. Another important component of the refills is the anatomically shaped matrix bands. These bands are designed to replicate natural contours and help create restorations that closely resemble the original tooth anatomy. By providing a seamless fit, these matrix bands contribute to the overall aesthetics and functionality of the final restoration.
The refills also include adaptive, self-guiding wedges that enhance isolation and create a tight seal. These wedges adapt to the shape of the preparation and guide the matrix band into the correct position, preventing leakage or contamination. By maintaining a secure and isolated environment, these wedges contribute to the stability and success of the restoration. By providing the necessary refills, the Palodent V3 Sectional Matrix System ensures that dentists have access to all the components they need to deliver precise and reliable results. This integrated workflow optimizes the speed, efficiency, and accuracy of dental restorations, saving time and ensuring patient comfort and satisfaction. INDICATION: For Class II restorations |
ACCURATE CONTACTS:
Poor contact creation can lead to fractures, food impaction, gingival inflammation and recurrent caries. The Palodent V3 nickel-titanium rings offer a consistent separation force on molars and premolars, securing the anatomically shaped Palodent V3 matrix against the preparation for a predictable and accurate contact, every time. When using resin-based restoratives, isolation is essential for success. The Palodent V3 ring works with the matrix and wedges to create a tight seal around the restorative field, allowing the clinician to confidently move forward into the procedure. The Palodent V3 system components work together to seal and shape the restoration, minimizing flash and the required time spent finishing, as well as the chance of having to re-do the restoration due to poor contact. The system can be configured for multiple restorations at once, and the WedgeGuard provides added efficiency by protecting the adjacent tooth, allowing the clinician to prepare the cavity without worry. Use Palodent V3 in combination with SDR® (Smart Dentin Replacement) to simplify and optimize the class II restorative procedure.SDR has up to 60% less polymerization stress2 which means it can be bulk-filled in 4mm increments.SDR’s flowable consistency results in self-leveling and full cavity adaptation without the need for manipulation with a hand instrument. Palodent V3 and SDR are the perfect partners for producing fast, optimal, and stress-free class II restorations. |
Nickel-titanium retaining rings: These rings securely hold the matrix bands in place during the restoration process, providing exceptional stability. Anatomically shaped matrix bands: Designed to replicate natural contours, these bands create restorations that closely resemble the original tooth anatomy, contributing to aesthetics and functionality. Adaptive, self-guiding wedges: These wedges adapt to the shape of the preparation and guide the matrix band into the correct position. They enhance isolation, create a tight seal, and prevent leakage or contamination. Wedge Guards: These guards facilitate faster and easier cutting of the cavity and lower the risk of interproximal damage to the adjacent tooth. They are detached after preparation, leaving the wedge in place. Universal Ring: Made of nickel-titanium, this ring offers outstanding spring strength, memory, and consistent separation force. It is stackable for versatility and has glass-fiber reinforced plastic tines that accommodate the wedge. Narrow Ring: Similar to the Universal Ring, it features innovative features and benefits but with tines set closer together for optimal separation of smaller teeth. Matrices: The refill set includes five different sizes of matrices with a pronounced marginal ridge for ideal anatomy. They have a greater curvature on the horizontal plane to wrap around the tooth, and the gingival apron is optimally shaped to prevent gaps in the gingival-axial corner. Wedges: The refill set includes three sizes of wedges that compress on entry and flare upon exit for easy placement and a secure seal. |
Matrix Band Placement:
Select the appropriate anatomically shaped matrix band from the refill set based on the tooth being restored. Select the appropriate size of the nickel-titanium retaining ring from the refill set based on the tooth being restored. Select the appropriate size of the adaptive, self-guiding wedge from the refill set based on the tooth being restored. Proceed with the dental restoration procedure, such as composite filling placement or crown preparation, following standard protocols and techniques. Once the restoration is complete, remove the retaining ring using the forceps provided. Release the ring from the matrix band by unlocking the grip arms and gently lifting it away from the tooth. |
Select the appropriate anatomically shaped matrix band from the refill set based on the tooth being restored.
Slide the matrix band into the retainer ring, ensuring a secure fit.
Place the matrix band around the tooth to be restored, positioning it firmly against the adjacent tooth.
Select the appropriate size of the nickel-titanium retaining ring from the refill set based on the tooth being restored.
With the matrix band in place, carefully position the retaining ring over the matrix band.
Gently compress the retaining ring using the forceps included in the refill set to securely hold the matrix band in place. Ensure that the ring is evenly seated and provides stable support.
Select the appropriate size of the adaptive, self-guiding wedge from the refill set based on the tooth being restored.
Insert the wedge into the interproximal space, guiding it along the contour of the preparation.
Ensure that the wedge provides a tight seal and prevents any unwanted leakage or contamination.
Proceed with the dental restoration procedure, such as composite filling placement or crown preparation, following standard protocols and techniques.
Take care to maintain stability and isolation throughout the procedure, utilizing the sectional matrix system and its components as necessary.
Once the restoration is complete, remove the retaining ring using the forceps provided. Release the ring from the matrix band by unlocking the grip arms and gently lifting it away from the tooth.
Carefully remove the matrix band from the tooth, ensuring no damage or interference with the restoration.
Remove the wedge by gently pulling it out of the interproximal space, taking care not to disturb the restoration.
